Experiment: Are fizzy drinks good for our health?

With this experiment, we intend to see if fizzy drinks are good for our health or not.

For this experiment you will need:
*Different fizzy drinks
*Other types of drinks you want to try with
*Plastic cups
*Post-it note to label the drinks
*Tape
*Dirty coins
*A worksheet to record your hypothesis and the results of your experiment

Step 1: Pour the drinks on the plastic cups and take a picture with the coins next to them for the before and after comparison.

Step 2: Formulate the hypothesis. On the first part of the worksheet write what you think is going to happen to the dirty coins with the drinks you are using.

Step 3: Wait for a day or two and take out the coins. Have some paper or wipies around to clean your hands well after, specialy if you had used vinager or milk like us!

Step 4: Now, write the changes (or not) that you see in the coins after being in the drinks for a couple of days.

These are our final results. Hope you enjoyed!

Experiment time: healthy habits, washing hands properly

While working on the healthy habits unit, we had an experiment about washing the hands in a more effective and healthy way, to avoid getting ill...

For this experiment you need:
*A big bowl with hot water
*A big bowl with cold water
*Dish washing soap
*Cinnamon (I used other this time)
*Olive oil
*Kitchen paper

1. First, you need to prepare everything and choose two students. They need to get their hands dirty with olive oil and cinnamon.

2. One of them needs to try to get his hands clean in the cold water with no soap and the other one needs to put some soap on his hands and wash them with hot water.

  3. Check the results for all children to see that you can't wash your hands and remove bacteria well if you don't wash them with soap and hot water.
